WHAT IS A FOOD SYSTEM?
A food system is the sum of all activities and elements involved in the production, consumption, and disposal of food.
Why are Food Systems Important?
They ensure food security and nutrition for a growing population.
They support the livelihoods of all people across the food supply chain - from producer, to consumer, and everyone in between who works to get food on tables!
Ideally, they do so in a sustainable way addressing all aspects of the system.

Community Food System: Community food systems are a type of food system where local farmers, community members, businesses, and consumers work together to create a more sustainable local food economy.
