June 2024 - Dick H.

Help us congratulate Dick H. for being our June 2024 Volunteer of the Month! Here’s a little bit about Dick:

1.  Are you from the valley?  If not, where? and what brought you here? I was born and raised in Perry, Iowa. I came to Colorado for ski trips during college and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains! I decided on Grand Junction mainly because of its size and location and because there was a vacant dental office that I could move into! 

2. What is your favorite thing about the Grand Valley? I love the multitude of outdoor activities possible here! 

3.  What do you like to do when you're not at the Food Bank? Road trips large, medium, and small! I play a lot of disc golf, I also downhill ski, bike, hike, and walk. I also play banjo in 3 groups! 

4.  What motivated you to get involved in the Food Bank, and how long have you been volunteering with us? I got involved in volunteering at CFB because my brother Bill always spoke highly of everyone working and volunteering (especially Gus!). I started here April 1st of 2022!

5.  Anything else you'd like to share with the rest of the awesome volunteer team?  There are so many great people here which makes it a pleasure to be a part of!
